Google will soon enforce 2FA authentication. Unfortunatly Google does not prompt you to set up 2FA so you need to manually set this up before 2FA is enforced or you will be locked out of your Google Account. Follow these steps to enable 2FA on your Google Account.

Step-by-step guide

Here are the steps to enable 2FA for your account.

1.

    1. First, go to this site: https://myaccount.google.com/signinoptions/two-step-verification/enroll-welcome
    1. Click on Get Started, it may prompt for your password, enter your password and click Next
    2. After clicking Next, we recommend choosing "Show more options" so you can select the text message option, then press Continue
    3. Enter your personal cell phone number, then click Next
    1. Google will send you a code that you will enter on the screen, then press Next once more
    2. Once you receive the code on your phone you can enter it on the next screen to verify

      1. Some applications will not work with MFA. This password is provided as a method to still use those applications. It would be good to note this password down. If you continually get a password incorrect error on one of your devices or applications you will need to use this app password instead of your normal password.
