You may be prompted for More Information to sign into your e-mail account. This is because MFA (Multi Factor Authentication or Two Step Authentication (2FA)) is being rolled out.

Step-by-step guide

Here are the steps to enable MFA for your account.

1.

    1. First, you will see this message stating Microsoft needs more information, this is because it needs a second method to authenticate you.
    1. Microsoft will default to using the Microsoft Authenticator app, if you are comfortable using this option you can proceed, however it is much simpler to use text message verification and we suggest you choose the option "I want to set up a different method". This will allow you to use a simple text message for verification.
    2. After clicking I want to setup a different method, choose Phone, then confirm
    1. You will see this screen next, if you choose Authentication phone, then your country, and then enter your phone number, you can choose to have Microsoft send you a text message
    2. Once you receive the code on your phone you can enter it on the next screen to verify

    1. Some applications will not work with MFA. This password is provided as a method to still use those applications. It would be good to note this password down. If you continually get a password incorrect error on one of your devices or applications you will need to use this app password instead of your normal password.
